    Description/History of Medal researched below::;
    ***solely 1 of 767 medals struck***
    Lord Mayor's Sudan Medal, awarded to returnees from the Soudan event, in August 1885.
    Struck by Sydney Jeweller Evan Jones and issued by Thomas Playtair, the Lord Mayor of Sydney, in 1885. Silver circular disc with tab above disc with 'Soudan' and a hole for suspension. These medals were originally issued on a suspension ring with ribbon.
    Medals were issued blank and recipients were to have them engraved. An arrangement was made with jeweller Evan Jones, for this to carried out at no charge of charge.
    This medal has no name engraved on it.
